A Wrinkle in Time

I have had this memory of one of my favorite books of all time, but I could not for the life of me remember the title. I have tried and tried over the last several years to find out the title with no luck. Well last week I was in checking out the new library by our house when I saw several copies of the book A Wrinkle in Time sitting on the shelf; crisp, brand new, shiny books beckoning me forward. As soon as I looked at the cover I new it was the book I had remembered. So now Bryce and I are reading it together and I can't wait until this evening when we get to read the next few chapters. I am so glad that he enjoys reading as much as I do. Who knows, maybe this will become one of his favorites as well.

Happy Friday!

Irresistible

As I was going through our digital pictures, I came across this picture of Bennett that melted my heart. He was such a cuddly and sweet baby. He is still cuddly and sweet, but no longer a baby! He is quickly approaching his second birthday and I cannot believe how much he has grown.

In this picture, Grandma Ree was cuddling him when he was five days old. I am so glad that my mom came to Texas to share the first month with him and to help me out. She is an awesome mom and I am so grateful for her!

October recap

November! I cannot believe that it is November. I guess time flies when you are chasing three boys all day long. We had a busy October that's for sure. We also had a lot of fun. We finally made it to the Dallas Arboretum, which was beautiful. There are a bunch of really cool playhouses throughout the gardens and the boys loved exploring. I took some pictures but not as many as I would have liked, being that my memory card was full. Benny posed in the pumpkin patch, he loves having his picture taken and I love taking his picture.

We have also been busy with lots of halloween festivities and soccer, soccer, soccer! Last Saturday was our last game and I finally feel like I can breathe. With 3 evenings a week of practice and two different games on Saturday, it definitely kept us going, going, going. Scott just signed up for indoor soccer, so I don't think this soccer thing is going to let up for long.

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to the Arboretum...

Bragging on Bryce

I can't help but brag about him. He is just so responsible and I have absolutely no clue where he gets it from, which makes it even more impressive. Every morning he gets up extra early so he will have plenty of time to get ready for school. He makes his own breakfast, his own lunch, then brings me his folder to sign. He is adamant about being on time, again I have no clue where he gets it from. Today he decided that he didn't like my suggestions for making money (cleaning), so he went upstairs to find some toys he no longer played with and then created a business plan to sell them. He even made a chart! He's pretty sure that they will sell better on Saturday. He took his briefcase out front and began his endeavor. He hasn't sold any yet, but I don't think he is giving up. He was even talking like a businessman, using all kinds of big words. He cracks me up!

Here he is making sure that his brother doesn't go in the parking lot at KK's soccer practice.

First Day of Soccer

On Saturday KK's soccer team had their first practice and it was really cute. He loved it and can't wait to go again. Hopefully soccer will hold his interest longer than gymnastics did. We'll see....

Grandma's Garden

One of the boys favorite places in the world is their Grandma C's garden. They get dirty, build mud rivers and then jump in the mud rivers. Luckily we got to spend lots of time in Grandma's garden on our trip to Cali. Benny didn't play in the mud, but he still had fun.

Photos

Scott took the big boys on a camping trip this weekend and I had some time to edit photos....one of my favorite things to do. These are more pictures from our trip to California. We tried to get pictures of all of the cousins together, but that proved impossible. Still fun trying though!

Smiles!

For obvious reasons our nickname for KK is smiles. His love of life is contagious. I can't help but smile when I look at him. Today he made his own PB&J and was so proud of himself. He even dressed himself! My little boy is getting so big. I know I'm going to shed a tear on that first day of preschool.

Note: This was the pb&j before he even took a bite. I think he just ripped the bread in half to make a half sandwich.

Even Beezy can't help but smile....

and is always entertained watching his big bro......

Disneyland

Our trip to Disneyland was super fun. The kids loved spending time with their cousins. It was amazing how Disneyland really brought out the kids' personalities. My oldest was terrified of the rides but had no qualms about the guy in the freaky Darth Maul costume. My four year old on the other hand would ride pretty much any ride but was freaked out by anyone in costume, even Snow White! Benny could have cared less about any of it. I was afraid of damaging my nice camera, so most of the Disneyland pictures are snapshots from our little point and shoot. Not the best quality, but proof that we were there.

Grand Canyon

Here are some pictures from our trip to the Grand Canyon. It was amazing! The boys weren't as impressed. Their favorite part of the trip was watching the friendly squirrels that kept begging us for food. I also included a couple pictures of us relaxing at the hotel after the long ride in the car. So glad we made the detour up there.
